Project Reach Christmas “Warming Up The Kids Project,”

The happy and satisfied faces of hundreds of Tulsa Park Elementary school children reflected the success of the annual Project Reach Christmas “Warming Up The Kids Project,” said Susan Pennington Collins, director.

Bob Hurley and several employees from the Bob Hurley Auto Family assisted with the project. Several employees, and many Bob Hurley Auto Family customers, also contributed donations of money and time to help with the event. Bob took the time to speak with all of the children and all of them expressed sincere thanks and appreciation. The Bob Hurley Auto Family helped bring needed school supplies to hundreds of children at the first of the school year.

For several years now, the non-profit organization has raised funds to bring a large Christmas stocking to the children of this west Tulsa elementary school. This year’s stocking was filled with a hooded jacket, a scarf, a knitted cap, candy and other goodies. The jackets are imprinted with slogans such as Park Power. This year’s event was held Dec. 20th and Imperial Coffee of Tulsa brought hot chocolate and cookies for the kids. Several other volunteers helped distribute the Christmas stockings to the more than 400 children. Funding for stockings came from donations from dozens of area residents. You can visit the organization’s website at  http://projectreachtulsa.wordpress.com/ for more information.

Collins explained that Project Reach-Tulsa is committed to help build confidence and self-esteem. They also strive to provide relief to the poor and underprivileged kids.

Collins said, “Thanks everyone for making it a fun time today! I appreciate every one of you!  We are just a BIG bunch of people who love to bless others!”
