Guess who was “Principal for a Day?”

The children of Park Elementary enjoyed a special day on March 30th when Bob Hurley served as “Principal for a Day.”

Bob took the morning to lead the students through a school-wide fire drill and a disaster drill, as well as challenging kindergarteners to a foot race on the playground.

“Bob Hurley and the entire dealership are like family to us here at Park Elementary,” said Anita Schroeder, school principal.

The school district names an honorary “Principal for a Day” on one day each year and Schroeder said this year’s choice is no stranger to the school.

“I’ve been working at the school since 2007 and Bob Hurley and the dealership was already working with the school and since that time Project Reach has teamed with Bob to really help the kids,” she said. The dealership, along with Project Reach, a local non-profit charitable organization, donated school supplies to every student at the first of the school year. They’ve participated in several projects to benefit the children at the school.

Schroeder said the students were thrilled to see Bob around the school, several asked to shake his hand or give him a hug, and some even asked for his autograph.

“The Bob Hurley dealership is one of our official Partners in Education. We like to get folks from the community involved with the school. We are so appreciative about everything the dealership has done for the kids,” she added.
