Ford has won four 2012 Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards – more than any other automaker. Ford took top honors as Most Family-Friendly Brand; Best Exterior Design Brand, Non-Luxury; Best Interior Design Brand, Non-Luxury; and, for the fourth year in a row, Most Rugged Truck Brand. The Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards recognize automakers’ outstanding achievements in creating and maintaining brand attributes that capture the attention and enthusiasm of the new-vehicle buying public.

The 2012 F-150 SVT Raptor is set to deliver a new level of the no-compromise off-road performance the truck is famed for and, with a variety of new technologies and interior and exterior updates, it won’t disappoint.

“A major element of the SVT Raptor program is our work to continuously expand the capabilities it offers to customers. We want to cover all dimensions of off-roading – from desert running to rock climbing,” said Raj Sarkar, Ford F-150 Marketing manager. “We always aim to keep the product fresh and exciting, and all of our changes for 2012 reflect that.”

Just announced at the Los Angeles Auto SHow is the 2013 Ford Escape, America’s best-selling SUV, will raise the bar even higher with the debut of an all-new model next year that features 11 new exclusive features and fuel economy projected to top any vehicle of its kind on the market today.

For 2013, Ford is delivering a faster, simpler, and easier to use version of MyFord Touch. Developed using owner feedback, Ford will launch the Performance Upgrade and new features early next year concurrent with the launch of 2013 MY vehicles and offer the Performance Upgrade to existing owners at no charge.

When two industry leaders shake hands, you know the outcome of the agreement is going to be pretty spectacular. So, when Azure Dynamics – which develops and produces hybrid electric and electric components and powertrain systems for commercial vehicles – and Ford shook on it, the result was that Azure would integrate its proprietary plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology in the market-leading F-Series Super Duty® lineup.

Ford Motor Co. began accepting applications in July for the 1,800 jobs the company is adding at its Louisville Assembly Plant.

Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said during a news conference that the jobs are part of a $600 million retooling at the plant.

Wireless subscriptions in the United States have grown from about 28 million in 1995 to about 270 million by 2009 a whopping 960 percent increase. The public has become accustomed to using cell phones everywhere at home, on the street, in restaurants, at the office, while shopping and of most interest to Ford's safety researchers while driving.

The ubiquity of cell phones coupled with the proliferation of portable music players in vehicles has heightened concerns about driver distraction. We at Ford agree that this is an important safety issue and we have taken steps to address it. We also believe that continued research is needed to better understand the complex interactions involved in this issue and we are participating in that research.

Just days before thousands of emergency communication professionals gather for the National Emergency Number Association 2010 conference, Ford announced new capability for the SYNC 911 Assist™ application. The system can now communicate a vehicle’s exact location using GPS coordinates provided to emergency responders.
The nonsubscription-based app remains available to customers at no additional cost; providing emergency operators access to GPS coordinates of a vehicle, another important tool that could help first responders reach the scene of an accident faster.
“Ford is committed to continuously enhancing the owner experience, and SYNC is a key part of that strategy,” said Doug VanDagens, Director of Ford Connected Services. “SYNC 911 Assist is free for the life of the vehicle, and now we’re making it perform even better. That adds unexpected value and peace of mind for the customer.”
